Research

He is a member of IdentiCat, research group on “Language, Culture and Identity in the Global Age”. Created in 2008, it was recognised in 2009 as an Emerging Research Group (GRE) by the Government of Catalonia (2009 SGR 460), and as a Consolidated Research Group (GRC) in May 2014 (2014 SGR 1516). Since its inception, the group takes aim at investigating linguistic, literary and cultural issues related to contemporary Catalonia from an interdisciplinary perspective, and also with a comparative focus with the help of international partners.

Between 2008 and 2011 he worked at the reserach project “Intercambios entre sistemas literarios: mediación y mediadores desde la literatura catalana (s. XX)” (FF12008/02987/FILO). Between 2012 and 2015 he was the director of the project “Funcions del passat en la cultura catalana contemporània: institucionalització, representacions i identitat” (FFI2011-24751). Today he has shared as a researcher the project “MapModern. Mapping Hispanic Modernity. Cross-border Literary Networks and Cultural Mediators (1908-1939)” (FFI2016-76055-P).

In 2010 he spent a semester at the Unit of Culture Research, University of Tel Aviv, with a grant from Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (project supervisor: prof. Itamar Even-Zohar). In 2017, he is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Departament of Romance Languages and Literatures of the University of Chicago.

He was the director of the studies “Organismes institucionals de promoció de la literatura a Europa. Inventari raonat” [Official institucions for literature promotion in Europe. A catalogue] (2007), as an assignment by the Culture Departament of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and “Els literaris a Catalunya i en català fora del Principat (anys 2000 i 2001)” [Literary awards in Catalonia and in Catalan outside of Catalonia] (2001), carried out by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya as an assignment by the Culture Departament of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

In 2008 he got the Research Accreditation by AQU [Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency].

He is one of the International Society for Polysystem Studies (ISPS) founders.
